Photo Favorites
My favorite type of photography shows people in everyday life, specifically people working. I prefer candid shots to posed ones. I really love gritty, urban scenes especially those from far away places. I wish that every picture could be shot with medium format film. Lately I have been really interested in photographs of small architectural details, especially doors.

I'm trying to build up the courage to go candid shooting downtown...everytime I've tried it seems like everyone's eyes are on you. Or, maybe that's just my paranoia? Who knows

I agree about your preference to candid vs posed. Posed shots look to forced most of the time!
There are some pretty cool doors in Winnipeg. At home I always take pictures of rocks...pretty boring
i like run down houses in the really sad neighbourhoods especially when people are still haingin out there
I was in Quebec City and became intrigued with doors/doorways also.
candid is the way to go. one of the reasons i would never be able to shoot a wedding. i hate having to pose people.
For some reason what you said reminded me about an old book I have that shows pictures of Winnipeg in the 50's and 60's. It's very gritty urban and interesting. I'm also really interested in Architecture; I hope we have to chance to take some pictures around PV soon!
